Mission

To help educate those who want to pursue a healthier and ultimately happier life.

To share my knowledge and passion in holistic healing modalities specifically Ayurveda, Yoga and Nature based therapeutics.

To empower others to take control of their health so that they may live without the burden of disease and illness, but with vibrancy; enjoying all that life offers.

To help others heal not only their physical body, but their mind and their heart.

My Journey

I've worked in the fitness industry as a USA Swimming swim coach, American Council on Exercise personal trainer, Aquatic Exercise Association water aerobics instructor, FitTour Pilates instructor and Yoga instructor.  I have also worked in mental health as a wilderness guide/behavioral health technician, activity therapist and as a Yoga therapist.  Looking back, I can see how each of my past positions of employment have guided me along the path of becoming a specialist in holistic health.

I started teaching Yoga over 14 years ago as a certified Hatha Instructor through FiTour.  Since then I've completed a 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training (YTT) in Multi-Style Yoga, 500 hour YTT in Traditional Tantra Yoga and a variety of continuing education workshops.

At first I was purely interested in the physical benefits of Yoga; building strength, stamina and flexibility.  However over time I started noticing other more subtle benefits.  My focus and concentration had improved.  I not only felt more energetic, but also more peaceful.  As I experienced the benefits of Yoga, I became interested in mind-body medicine.  I started studying Yoga philosophy, energetic anatomy and concepts of holistic health.

The study of Yoga eventually led me to the study of Ayurveda, and I completed the training required to meet the standards of the National Ayurveda Medical Association for Ayurveda Practitioners.  The study and more importantly the practice of Yoga and Ayurveda became and continues to be an integral part of my personal development.

My Bachelor of Arts is in Outdoor Studies in which I focused on the therapeutic benefits of outdoor recreation, and for my Masters of Arts Program I studied holistic health.  The bulk of my thesis was creating a Yoga Teacher Training curriculum that emphasized holistic teaching methods; holistically supporting others along their own unique path of personal growth.

I work full time as the Director of Programs for Onward and Upward an Adventure Based Learning School for Self Discovery based in Palmer Alaska.

I share my passion for Yoga and Ayurveda by teaching Yoga Teacher Training programs, offering Yoga classes/workshops and providing Holistic Life Coaching services.
